The carrier to provide free quick in-flight wifi via space-based agreement
Travelers flying with the airline will soon use quick connectivity during flights at no cost due to a new agreement from SpaceX's communications company.
Free and Fast Connectivity for All
The airline announced that the no-cost, “fast and dependable” internet service via the satellite provider will be available to customers flying coach, premium economy, or first class as of soon.
Broad Rollout Across Multiple Airlines
The holding organization for the airline, the airline group, announced it had finalized an deal involving SpaceX to provide internet access on over 500 jets within its carriers, such as Aer Lingus, the Spanish carrier, and the low-cost airline.
Seamless Wifi starting at Gate through Landing
BA noted that this introduction for this technology was part of a £7bn “modernization” program and would offer smooth wifi access to travelers from boarding to landing, also when traveling above large bodies of water or isolated areas.

Existing Internet Options
Limited internet access is currently offered for British Airways travelers on nearly all of their aircraft using its .air platform.
Participants of the airline's frequent flyer program are able to dispatch messages plus text-only messages onboard without paying, while travelers looking to access audio, video, and content on their travel and are not flying in first class can expect to be charged between four pounds ninety-nine and £21.99 for one internet package.

BA's executive team are working to improve the airline back after a period of cost cutting, system failures, labor disputes, and staff cuts.

Earlier this year, the carrier announced a jump for earnings for the first six months of the year, helping to push IAG’s profit to grow.

British Airways’ announcement follows shortly after mobile phone operator the telecom firm revealed it was teaming up alongside the satellite provider to boost mobile network connectivity in rural parts of the UK, letting consumers to automatically link handsets through orbiting devices if there is no standard cellular service is available.
